Whipsmiths were recently approached by Mischief PR on behalf of World Duty Free and asked to create a range of Whisky infused ice-creams to celebrate the media launch of their annual #whiskyfestival.
Working with the informed tasting notes provided by @themisswhisky who understands whisky like we understand ice-cream, we went to work in our development kitchen to create a range of ten whisky based ice-creams that were then shortlisted to five for the event itself.
Whipsmiths sourced a fantastic old Citreon H Van which was fully branded for the event, and after a test run on the staff of World Duty Free at their headquarters in Feltham, Middlesex a couple of days earlier, we hit the streets of London on Thursday 14th May with the Gentlemans Club, Adult Ice Cream Van.
The Ice Cream van was toured “guerilla” style around various media houses in the morning whilst journalists were invited out for a tasting session and then we set up camp in Bloomsbury Square for a public giveway in the afternoon.

The Black Grouse
Cherry & Chilli icecream infused with ‘The Black Grouse – Alpha Edition’ whisky topped with Raspberry Chilli Sauce
The Spice Road
Chocolate & Sea Salt ice cream infused with ‘Johnnie Walker Spice Road’ whisky and caramel sauce
The Long Journey
Plum Jam icecream infused with ‘Jura Turas Mara’ whisky topped with candied ginger
Honey & Rock
‘Balvenie Triple Cask 12’ whisky blended with malt paste and topped with honeycomb crumbs
Fit for a King
Fig ice cream mixed with Rooibos infused ‘Glenmorangie Duthac’ whisky and ground cassia
